Self-image and self-confidence

Self-image and self-confidence

We are not born with a self-image. Children develop an image of themselves in connection with others. Other people (parents, family, teachers, carer’s and peers) give feedback on behaviour. This is how they influence the self-image of the child. This image can be positive or negative. With this self-image a child also develops self-confidence, a trust in their own abilities. Some children like to try new things or activities. Even if they are not always successful they will go for it. Other children don’t like making mistakes and are reluctant to try new sports or activities. Do you notice that your child has little self-confidence and your praise and compliments don’t seem to have any effect?

Do you want to know how you can improve their self-confidence?

Because every situation is unique, I like to discuss the possibilities with you. In general for questions on self-image and self-confidence we choose a Social Competence Training, a Rock and Water Training, an Email consultation or a Personal consultation.
