“When I count to three you sit at the table.” “Whoever sits in the car first with the seatbelt on gets a sweet.” “Two more bites and you will get a dessert.” Negotiating, threatening and competitive games are examples of ways parents use to children into action. Sometimes this works temporarily, but mostly it means more struggles with obedience.
